For Crafting 365 today I submitted one of the wrap dresses I made. I made another Friday night but then finished this one up this afternoon. I’ve had to adjust there the ties are in relation to the opening so the front flaps don’t turn out so wonky.
Also today I went and got my hair cut and highlighted as well a a brow wax. The guy parted my hair on the opposite side of what I usually do but I think I like it so I might try to switch to that.
Amie was busy with mid-terms so we didn’t run today but it is just as well since I need to work on cleaning the house.

C and I were able to get into the Focus course at work at the last minute. This course teaches you not only how to put together the Franklin Covey planner they give you but how to use it. A lot of the tips relate to 7 Habit which I took when I went through LDP (Leadership Development Program) a work.
In addition to the kit and binder, we received a Franklin Covey planner and coupon to trade the kit and/or the binder at the Franklin Covey store. I kept my pages and bought an orange binder…yummy!
For the class we filled in our values and also worked on setting goals. I set a goal to open an etsy shop of Blythe dresses by November 1st. This goes with my value of Creativity. I haven’t sold anything I’ve made since wow Jr. High maybe so I am a bit nervous. But this is one of those things that I’ve talked about for years and never done. I am trying to change that about myself. It may not fix the situation I am in this year but it can go towards fixing me. And I’m starting to like me so I think fixing would be nice.
My new role at work (stepping down as a manager and going back to being a team lead in the technical area I have a lot of experience/skill in…long drama-filled story) is changing soon so I look forward to using my new planner and skills to organize a bit better. I have a planner now but it is mostly just meetings and lists and notes with no priorities so I just try and do everything…ugh. I need to live in quadrant 2!!!

Gracie’s fall outfit from Le Petit arrived the other day. There is a skirt as well that we need to photograph. Pretty eh?
Check out the shop to clothe your girls.
Speaking of clothing…I made a new wrap dress for the girls. I’m tossing the idea in my head of making more and selling them at TIB or Etsy. I’ve haven’t sold any of my crafts since I had a little friendship bracelet business in junior high (lol I have order forms and everything). Would anyone buy the dresses I wonder…hmm.

Yay! The window replacement project began this morning. So far three windows are complete and they are working on a 4th. They more than likely won’t be able to finish today so they will be back tomorrow, meaning I get to work from home.
Meanwhile…the girls plan for their apartment. I am going to set up some shelves in the sewing room wardrobe, perhaps somewhat portable so I can move it to get the best lighting for photos.

Yes, I bought another one. Meet Roberta ‘Bobbie’ Wickham an Ashton Drake Blythe. Bobbie is named after a PG Wodehouse character.
First line of business for this girl was a hair cut and style. Then I had the terrible task of removing her front eye chips. Holy heck the glue on these ADG dolls! After a small drill was used the chips came out and now she has Apple and Cadet Blue. I also added lots of freckles and used a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to get some of her super dark makeup off.
In other news, new windows are being installed Thursday YAY, and Bunko is Friday…Yay again. In the mail was my retail therapy order from Fabric.com so now my stash is a little larger and I guess I will make more quilts and doll clothes. At some point I plan on getting back to people clothes but maybe after I start running again.
Speaking of running, A sent out a new schedule and it looks pretty good. We start next week. It will be good to get back to that, any bit of activity helps.
Work stuff is nearing a solution and if it turns out as it appears it will then it will mean some big changes for me but I think I can live with them and maybe as a bonus like work a bit more. We’ll see, you know the whole thing about counting chickens…

I’ve been working on a lap quilt based on ‘All Squared Up’ by Patty Murphy (in the summer issue of Quilt Sampler). The fabric I bought in a bundle at the quilt show in January that C and I always go to. If I remember right it was at the booth that C later left her phone at and I had to run back in to get it just as the show was closing for the day.
I call it the sister quilt because I plan on sending it to my sister when I am done. I also have some little things I bought for my nieces ages ago and never sent. I’ll need to think of something to send for my nephew too. I am horrible at keeping in touch so I am hoping this will show that despite that I really care a lot about her and appreciate all she’s done for me over the years.
So far I have most of the quilting done. I’m using my new walking foot and it is going pretty good, even though my ‘straight’ stitching isn’t all that straight. I’ll just call that ‘charm’. I also used basting spray for the first time. It works well but it was a pain for me to get everything laid out smoothly.
As usual, I am using flannel for the back. I bought it online and the color of brown is a little darker than I expected but I think it still goes nicely. Perhaps I can finish it up sometime next week.
Now for what to make my nephew…his sister have little bags I made them so maybe a little pouch he can put treasures in.

I was so good today and helped mommy clean her messy desk. She saw how great little plastic girls are and adopted me a sister! Yay! She is an Ashton Drake Readhead and she won’t ship untli Saturday…ugh the wait! She also bid on some Barbie shoes, hope enough of them fit!
I also got my Honey eye chips foil backed…well not real foil. Mommy didn’t have any so what we did was peel off the cardboard from some foil jewelry gift boxes from the $1 store. It worked pretty good. They look pretty orange-y now than brown but they are sparkly. We’re gonna go to the store and see if they have green boxes so we can line by Green Tea chips. Ooo and maybe we need to order chips for my sister.
Oh yeah and other stuff that doesn’t relate to me (why bother really…sheesh): mommy cleaned the front of the house and worked on a quilted wallhanging for the living room. She couldn’t get up the guts to scooter to Target or Toys R Us so she went to CVS and Wendy’s instead. She says she doesn’t really need’ anything at Target anyways. Um doll stuff…hellloo. Tomorrow she doesn’t have to work so we are doing laundry and cleaning the rest of the house. (psst she is pretty messy for one human…I shudder to think what this place was like when there were two humans here….or what it will be like if there are two humans again!)
Oh and there is a person in Gilbert who is on TIB and Flickr and does really pretty doll makeovers. She invited us to a dolly playdate. Yay!

…people that just don’t freakin’ listen. Seriously, am I invisible or something?!?!?! So at work we have to put in requests for new projects. You put in your reqyest and it gets a priority rating, if it is below a certain rating you don’t get an official PM. I put in request…low rating received and no PM for me. Okay fine, the project was something I could PM myself as I am the person at said work with the most knowledge on the project (not bragging, I just am). That was on the August 7th. Some other people are work are all going nuts over the servers that are in the scope of this project (all the sudden they care when a month ago they didn’t realize they were sitting there…sheesh). I send out an email explaining the prioority rating that that a project plan would be coming out and set some expectations and asked for any hard deadlines people knew about so I could factor those in. Do you think anyone responded? He%* no. So ths week I hear it does have a PM now. Ok great, less work for me and although it is an easy project it is an involved one and I had hoped for a PM. But in looking at the concept approval it has someone else’s name! So I think that someone else either didn’t read my emails or thinks I am invisible and put in their own request. WTF! I mean the outcome is good, there is a PM now and it is the best PM, but I’d think if it was a case of people going to bat to get the rating up and help me out then I would have been told. Nope, I find out from a rumor that it has a PM. Grr. I am happy but at the same time so flipping annoyed.
On the good side…bunko was a blast tonight. On the bad side I have broken about 6 needles tonight and a sewing project I have to have done by tomorrow so I can send it out. Blargh!
