Fabric Collection Added

Under the Shop page you will now see a link to the fabric collection. I took some quick shots of the bulk of the fabric closet last night for easy browsing of what I have ‘in stock’ for Blythe carry bags. My next task is going to be to upload more photos of past work on regular, pretty stripe, ultra, and deluxe bags.

Is this the beginning of change?

So I took the plunge yesterday. No, I did not get married again. I bought a car. A car that I will drive. For most people that isn’t a big deal. They happily drive to this place and that without a care in the world. Oh, going to this location will take me through 5 left turns and onto the highway? No biggie. Now to me…different story. Most people who read this already know my whining about driving. I never quite got enough consistent practice so each time was like starting over. Finally at 27 I took a course and received my license. Later that week I drove myself to the library and then on the way home decided to get some gas. I promptly took the turn badly and crunched into the gas pump. I declared myself too stupid to drive and a stealer of oxygen.

More recently I’ve had some successful short drives with someone in the passenger seat. Friday night I took a rental car I had (since S had to leave early) to Walgreens by my house and back again. First solo trip to and from somewhere with no crashing…ever. I am nearly 34 and that was the 1st ever success by myself. I admit it, I cried in the driveway for about 15 minutes. Saturday morning the car had to go back so I got it there then C picked me up for an errand I needed to do. For a year or more I have been vowing that with my tax refund i would be getting a car. You know those things you declare and set a far off date for. They are never really going to come to pass and everyone will just forget. Well, it doesn’t work out that way sometimes. C is very persuasive and told me we were going to Honda for me to look at the car I had pretty much decided on. We went…I test drove a base model…I didn’t hurt anyone…the salesman didn’t wet himself due to my driving. So far so good. They check the used lot and lo and behold they just for in a low mileage Fit in last year’s model in the Sport edition. Only about 6k miles on it and with more features than the regular base model. And in a lovely silver color to boot. Best…certified used so the warranty is hella long and the price is that of the base model. We test drove that one and all was well. C and M (via text) help me out with making sure the offer is reasonable and I buy it! M was advocating the whole you leave the place and come back stuff but I know that if I didn’t do it that I would talk myself out of doing it ever. I am very skilled in talking myself out of things that go outside my comfort zone. C followed me home from the dealership (no, I did not take the freeway…babysteps!) and then later I took it to the grocery. This morning I took it to CVS. Did I need anything from CVS? Not really. But what I did need was an excuse to try a little trip. I still can’t believe I am one step closer to almost being a normal person.

The Fit is GO!
